    How do you check the voltage at the EGR valve on 1999 Mazda Protege? Posted by Customer

    Reconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector, detach the vacuum hose from the EGR valve, and install a vacuum pump at the valve. Turn the ignition switch on and measure the voltage at terminal B of the connector, which should read approximately 0.8 volts with no vacuum applied and approximately 5.0 volts with 5.0 in-Hg applied.
