1986 Mazda B2000 Sway Bar Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the sway bar for 2WD on 1986 Mazda B2000?
A: In order to take off and put the stabilizer bar, make sure to first lift the front with jackstands and support it. The next step involves removing the bolts holding the stabilizer bar to the frame and then the next step will be to remove the stabilizer bar to the lower control arms and to make sure that all the bushings, washers and spacers are in place. Check every element regarding wear and damage, and change any parts which seem suspicious. To install, adopt the process of removing in reverse, screwing all the fasteners loosely and then loading them to the required value with the wheels on the ground: the stabilizer-to-control arm nut should be tightened to 25 ft. lbs. on those models of 1972-84 and 34 ft. lbs. on those models of 1986-89, and the stabilizer-to-frame clamp bolts to 16 ft. lbs.
