How to replace a thermostat on 1991 Mazda 626?

Disconnect the negative battery, remove distributor, and drain the coolant below thermostat. Remove upper radiator hose, unplug thermo switch, remove housing, replace and seal thermostat, reinstall outlet and hose, reconnect switch and distributor, refill coolant, start and run until hose is hot, top off and cap.
