How to replace the hood latch and hood release cable on 2003 Mazda Protege?

In order to change the latch, put a mark to make an alignment, take out the mounting bolts, and un-hook the hood release cable. Installation works in the opposite direction and it must be adjusted. The solution is to disconnect the cable in the latch and remove clips and drag the cable through the firewall making sure that the new cable is properly installed.
