How to remove and install the catalytic converter on 2006 Mazda 6?

The catalytic converters are part of the exhaust manifolds of all engines other than the 3.7L V6, and thus, they cannot be serviced individually. Start with lifting the car up. Dislodge the down stream oxygen sensor, unscrew the nuts and bolts holding the catalyst and loosen the clamp. Unscrew the heat shields and catalytic converter and then place a new gasket.
