How to access and remove the tail light housing on 2006 Mazda 6?

In order to reach the taillight housing, one should fold trunk floor carpeting and take off the flexible trunk side trim panel. Unscrew the electrical connectors and eliminate the nuts of the housings and extract the taillight housing. To the trunk lid, take off the trim panel, snap off the electrical connector and take off the mounting nuts. The opposite of removal is installation.
