2006 Mazda 6 Timing Chain Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the Timing Chain, Timing Chain Tensioner and Timing Cover on 2006 Mazda 6?
A: Disconnect the battery, remove pulleys, belts and crankshaft pulley with engine at TDC; disconnect and replace the crankshaft position sensor. Support and raise the engine to remove the mount, unbolt the power steering pump, remove the front oil seal and timing cover. Reverse for installation: clean surfaces, apply RTV, re-time.
