For 2009 and earlier models, disconnect the negative battery terminal, open the liftgate, and remove the trim panel. Disengage the liftgate handle-to-latch rod and lock-to-latch rod. For 2010 and later models, remove the trim panels, disconnect the lock actuator, and remove the assembly, with installation being the reverse.
