  A: Take out battery cover and duct. The air filter is given in a housing on the left (drivers) side of the engine compartment. To take out the air filter, unlatch the two halves of the air cleaner housing together and then separate the halves of the cover and remove the air filter element by unclipsing the clips linking the cover to the air cleaner and then pulling the cover out of position and the element out. Check the exterior part of the filter element; when it is not clean, change it. In case it is moderately dusty, by blowing it with the compressed air (to the back to front) it may be reused. Because it is pleated type of filter made out of paper, it cannot be washed or oiled. In case it is not cleanable to the level of satisfaction using the compressed air, dispose and replace. When the cover is removed, watch not to drop anything in the housing. Always make sure that you do not drive the vehicle with the air cleaner off because a lot of engine wear might also take place and even a fire may break out underneath its hood due to backfiring. Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing with a wipe and install the new filter into the air cleaner housing and make sure it fits into position. Ensure the upper half of the housing is in place after which it is fixed using the clamps.
