How to access the tail light housing on 2010 Mazda 3?

In order to reach the taillight housing, take the plastic push pins out of the trunk panel and push it out. In liftgate models, the service hole cover is to be removed. Unfold the trunk carpeting, loosen the side trim push pins and disconnect the electrical connectors. Unscrew the nuts that held the housing, and then remove it.
