How to replace the fuel pressure regulator on 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

In models dating to 1997 and below, the fuel rail has the fuel pressure regulator. Take the pressure off the fuel, unconnect the battery cable, and take off the vacuum hose. The regulator is placed on the fuel pump unit in the models between 1999 and 2005. The regulator will be included in the fuel pump assembly in the year 2006 and onwards.
