In case of fluid leakage as indicated by replacement, it is advisable to replace the calipers and not to carry out overhaul as new and factory rebuilt units are on exchange basis hence making the work simpler. Never replace a caliper in singles, but in pairs. Removal The wheel lug nuts should be loosened, then the vehicle should be lifted and then set on jackstands, then its wheels removed. Unscrew the fitting of the
Brake Hose, without removing it and loosen the caliper mounting bolts with a flare nut wrench to avoid damaging the fitting of the brake line. Reminiper the caliper off the mounting bracket, and unscrew it off the brake hose, without disconnecting the hose in case one is merely accessing other parts. In the case of the rear calipers, pull the
Parking Brake Cable out of the caliper by removing the brake cable out of the lever. To install: Reverse the process of removal and ensure the tightening of the mounting bolts to the required tightness. Make sure no hose connections leak and be very careful with checking brakes before inflating the vehicle back into normal operational condition. In case one of the rear calipers were taken off or changed, test and modify the parking brake where required.
