ECT sensor is nonexistent in 3.7L V6 engines. Start by removing the cable in the negative battery terminal. Then empty the engine coolant. In four-cylinder models, it is worth noting that It has two distinct parts manufacturers one in Mexico and the other in Hiroshima these parts are not interchangeable and cannot be used properly in the incorrect application. You should verify the vehicle identification numbers to understand what manufacturer of parts you are having in your vehicle. Unscrew the battery and battery tray, and pull off the rubber weather cover of the ECT sensor electrical connector (where fitted) and disconnect the connector. An ECT sensor can be removed by unscrewing it off the cylinder head, and then it can be installed again. In the case of 3.0L V6, disconnect the electrical connector to the ECT sensor. In order to take out the ECT sensor, unlock the locking tab, turn the sensor counterclockwise then take it out of the coolant passage. Disassemble the sensor O-ring and examine it, it should not be cut, ripped or damaged or otherwise worn out. Installation of the ECT sensor is achieved by putting the sensor into the coolant passage and then turning it clockwise until the locking tab clips into place and to remove the sensor is done in the opposite order. Lastly, fill in the cooling system.
