To remove the engine, first remove a flywheel or torque converter cover then in the case of an automatic transaxle remove the torque converter retaining bolts. The second step is to remove the screws that hold the bell housing to disassemble the transaxle and the engine. In the case of automatic systems, take out the transaxle driveplate, whereas in the case of manual systems, take out the pressure plate, clutch disc, and flywheel. Pry out the oil seal with a screwdriver. To install, place the new seal firmly in place and gently tap all around the outer edge until it is firmly in place. Then, install the flywheel and the flywheel plate or the driveplane assembly, connect the engine with the transaxle and then install the flywheel or torque converter cover, after which the engine is to be re-fitted back into the vehicle.
