In the case of the headlights removal and installation, on a wide range of models, such as the 323, 626, MX-6, and 929, start with the removal of the radiator grille that may be in the way of removing the headlamp assembly or any other bezel. Leak the screws to remove the bezel that encloses the headlight, and find the adjusting screws that can be either at the top or side. Unscrew the short screws that hold the headlight, and be careful about the rings that hold it in place, which may have to be loosened before they can be removed. In case of replacement of both inner and outer lights, they should not be confused because inner lights have a single filament whereas outer lights are two-filament. To install it, it is necessary to connect the wiring to the new headlight, mount it properly, and fix it by means of retaining screws or rings. Install the bezel and the grille again when necessary and headlight aiming when it was adjusted. On the RX-7 models that have retractable headlights, when they fail to open, the manual control knobs are under plastic casing in the engine compartment. Before continuing with removal, disconnect the negative battery cable, which is accomplished by lifting the headlights, removing the bezels and removing the electrical connector. To adjust headlight lids on 1979- 85 RX-7 models, raise headlights, disconnect link to the hinge assembly and make an adjustment of the positioning with the addition of the adjusting screw before reconnecting the link and fixing the motor.
