In order to take out and install the wiper motor of some different types of vehicles the first thing to do is to disconnect the negative battery cable. In 1978-82 models (except RX-7), loosen the wiper arms, cowl plate and unscrew the motor wiring and then undo the screws of the motor and transmission. Installation requires the repositioning of the motor and the transmission, reconnecting the wiring and the reinstallation of the cowl plate and wipers. The 1983 GLC Wagon has a wiper arm and a cowl grille which are removed, and then the electrical connector and motor are disconnected and the motor is removed. Un-removal is the opposite of reinstallation. GLC Sedan (1983-85): To change the wiper arms and service hole cover, first loosen the wiring and motor fitting with taking away the wiper arms and the service hole cover, do not forget to label the connection. In 323 models, take out the access cover, unscrew the electrical connector of the motor, and take out the motor without disturbing the location of the motor arm. In the 1983-87 626, use the removal of the wiper arms and the cowl cover by removing the electrical connector and mounting bolts of the motor and then detach the assembly. The reinstallation is necessitated by making sure that the linkage is in place. In case of 1988-89 626 and MX-6, once the wiper assemblies and lower molding are removed, disconnect the linkage and motor and install them in the same order and make sure it aligns properly. In 929 models, disassemble the motor and linkage by removing the wiper arms then lower front window molding then installing the motor. On RX-7s between 1979-85 fit the wipers in the middle, drop the arms, linkage and motor assembly, and then place it back together in the reverse direction. After detaching the wiper arms and cowl grille, remove the motor and re-insert it carefully taking care of proper fit of the wiper arms in the RX-7 models of 1986-89. Last, rewiring the battery cable of the negative, and verify the operation of the wiper system.
