To install and remove the switch to pickups and MPV the first step is to have the wiring disconnected to the switch on top of the brake pedal. Unscrew the switch out of the bracket by first loosening the locknut and adjusting nut. To install it, install the new switch, position the brake pedal and screw up the locknut. In the case of the Navajo model, unlock the locking tab on the connector of the switch, then disconnect the wiring with the hairpin, remove the hairpin retainer and slide the stop lamp switch, pushrod and nylon washer off the pedal. To detach the switch, slide up or down after taking off the washer. When it is furnished with speed control, it is necessary to replace the spacer washer with the dump valve adapter washer. Installation When installing, drop the switch so that the U-shaped side is closest to the pedal and directly over or under the pin and then move to force the master cylcle pushrod and bushing between the plates of the switch. Press the switch and pushrod assembly all the way to the brake pedal arm, screw and assemble the outside white plastic washer to the pin and install the hairpin retainer, again making sure it is the right one. Lastly, attach the switch and test the stop lamp operation making sure that the wiring has adequate travel within a complete stroke of the pedal.
