Mazda CX-7 Oil Pan

The Mazda CX-7 Oil Pan serves as the safe tank of the engine, which traps and retains the oil that lubricates all the moving components and cools them. Constructed as part of a wet sump system, this shallow, although wide, container, located beneath the powerplant of the turbocharged four-cylinder, enables gravity to recirculate hot oil immediately for the next pressure stroke, a geometry that has been lauded as simple yet highly reliable over the long term.
