To ensure maximum life of tires, common sense and good driving habits will help to avoid overloading the vehicle, and the right tire pressure will avoid tread wear. High acceleration, acceleration and deceleration, and high-speed cornering may also reduce the life of tires. To ensure maximum tire life, provide correct inflation, change tires frequently and check wheel alignment occasionally. Regular inspection is necessary, including the search of the bubbles in the tread or sidewall, deep cuts, or under-inflation, and changing tires with bubbles in the sidewall, or deep cuts, which extend to the cords. Lateral tread wear can be the sign of an alignment/balance problem. Tires must also be swapped every now and then to level the wear and tear and unidirectional tires should always be rolled in the same direction only reversed front-to-rear or rear-to-front on the same side. The spare is small and is only to be used in case of emergency and cannot be considered during rotation of the tires. To achieve optimum performance, tires should be used in groups of four and not mixed in terms of brands or types. When fitted with radial tires, the sizes and wheel diameters should be the same as those of the original tires and should not be fitted with radial tires in the front axle only. Note the size of the original tire printed on the tire and should one change to a new size/brand of tire, ensure that there is no interference with the body or the suspension parts. Good radial tires are good in wet roads, but snow radial does not have a good tread, and snow tires are more recommended. M + S is a designation assigned to most snow tires or they are labeled as all-season and four snow tires are recommended to stay stable. Keep in mind to buy additional snow tire wheels so that in case of seasonal change they would not get damaged. Keep tires in cool and dry conditions, not near direct moisture and concrete floors, and keep them in a flat, and not an upright position. Tire inflation is very important in performance, and thus tire pressure should be checked regularly, particularly when the tire is cold using a good gauge. Also do not exceed the maximum tire pressure that is embossed on the tire, refer to the vehicle to get the proper pressure. Getting used to the braking and handling of the vehicle will be a gradual process and a little bit of alteration in the tire pressure will be able to fine-tune the performance although cold pressure specification should not be altered more than 2 psi. Tread wear indicators indicate when the tires need replacement and measuring the depth of the tread can be done with a gauge or a Lincoln penny, in case the head of Lincoln is visible in two adjacent grooves then the tire must be replaced.
