Its hood is also cumbersome and difficult to get off and put on, thus the same process should be undertaken by at least two individuals. Open the hood and prop it up with a length of wood. Blankets or heavy cloths should be used to cover fenders and cowl to prevent damage of paint. Mark the alignment points at the bolt heads with marks so that when the bolts are re-fitted the windshield washer hose can be re-fitted on the passenger side. One individual must have one side of the hood and the other side of the hood and then one must remove the bolts of the hood-to-hinge on both sides and then he or she has to lift the hood up. To install, simply undo the steps used to remove it with the exception that the hood and hinges must be correctly aligned through the marks made earlier and the bolts must be tightened as well. To fit the hood to the fenders, weaken the fastening bolts and align the hood up and down as necessary, and screw the bolts again. Furthermore, loosen the bolts that hold the latch assembly of the hood, align the latch assembly with the hood latch striker and ensure the latch bolt is firmly tightened. Lubricate the hood latch assembly and hinges with white lithium base grease once a month to avoid sticking and jamming.
