How to use Lift Support to remove and install the liftgate strut on Mazda MPV?

Open the liftgate and support it. Use a small screwdriver to carefully pry the small circlip off the hinge pin and force the pin out of the hinge. Detach the lower end of the strut from the body using an open end wrench, ensuring to carefully remove the pivot assembly from the body of the liftgate doorjamb. Installation is the reverse of removal.
