Wiper and blade assembly should be periodically checked in relation to damages, loose parts, or broken and worn parts of the blade. The wiper blades may become covered with road film and hence should be washed every now and then using a mild detergent solution. When inspecting the wipers I would make sure that I check and tighten bolts, nuts and fasteners which may have been left loose by the wiping mechanism. When the wiper blades elements are broken, frayed, distorted and can no longer clean satisfactorily, it should be replaced by other new elements. In order to take out the wiper blade assembly in the arm, press the release lever and pull the assembly down and out of the hook at the end of the arm. Unscrew the blade insert component by removing it out of the right end of the wiper frame. The new element end with the small protrusions should be inserted into the right side of the wiper frame, then it should be pushed into the frame completely and the protrusions at the end of the frame should be pressed to ensure that the element is attached.
