- Q: How to replace the door lock cylinder on 1985 Mazda RX-7?A: Raise the glass, remove the trim panel, pry the water shield to reveal the door lock cylinder access hole. Stuff rags under the cylinder to catch parts. Disconnect the push-rod clip, remove the cylinder locking clip with pliers, push out the cylinder. Reverse to install, reconnect rod, replace shield, close and test.
