1990 Mazda B2200 Sway Bar Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the rear sway bar on 1990 Mazda B2200?
A: To pull the stabilizer bar off a Navajo, the vehicle must be lifted, and then the stabilizer bar needs to be disconnected by the links, remove the nuts, bolts, and washers. The second step is to remove the U-bolts and nuts in the mounting bracket and retainers, the next step is to remove the mounting brackets, retainers, and stabilizer bars. Installation requires the U-bolts and mounting brackets to be placed on the axle with the correct position of the brackets and the UP marking. Fit the stabilizer bar and retaining brackets to mountings, the retainers once more being placed with the UP side up. Set up by attaching the stabilizer bar to the rear links, the nuts, bolts and washers then install and tighten. Lastly, screw on the U-bolt nuts of the mounting bracket to a fixed torque of 30-42 ft. lbs. In MPV models, it is best to start by lifting the vehicle and securely holding it up, then unattach the stabilizer bar connections on either side of the stabilizer bar, then the stabilizer bar connection and bushing on the axle, and the stabilizer bar. Installation Care Carefully install the bushing on the bar and wedge it on the axle housing finger-tight then attach the stabilizer bar links to the frame brackets. Place the vehicle to the floor and tighten the stabilizer bar to axle bolts to 27-37 ft. lbs (35-50 Nm).
