How to replace the air filter in a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on 1997 Mazda MPV?

In order to change the filter element, buy a new one and take the electrical connector off the MAF sensor. Loosen throttle body air hose clamp, unbolts air cleaner cover and remove the cover. Wipe the housing, with the part marked side of the element facing upwards. Install the cover again and tighten the screw of the air hose.
