How to use Lift Support to remove and install the liftgate strut on 1997 Mazda MPV?

Liftgate: open and support. Take a small screwdriver and pry with it the circlip on the hinge pin, and remove that pin. Use an open-end wrench to detach the strut as carefully as possible off the body by removing the pivot assembly. Removal is the opposite of installation.
