How to remove and install an axle shaft on 2006 Mazda 6?

The wheel cover or hub cap can be removed by first loosening the axle shaft/hub nut and then the lug nuts of the wheels and then lifting the vehicle supported using jackstands. Disassemble the wheel, splash apron pushpins, and disconnect all the components. Before being put back, take care to trim the axle shaft, attach a new spring clip and make sure it is well seated.
