How to remove the starter motor on 2008 Mazda Tribute?

Disconnect negative battery cable, remove starter mounting bolts, raise the vehicle on jackstands and remove the intermediate shaft bearing support to access the starter without removing the driveaxle. Disconnect starter power/control connectors. V6 and newer models may need intake/cover, hose and wiring removal; reinstall in reverse and allow PCM relearn.
