How to replace the hood latch and hood release cable on 2010 Mazda 3?

To replace the hood latch, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and the hood latch switch connector. Scribe marks, remove bolts and the latch (avoid striking the airbag sensor). Remove the cable, upper engine cover, air inlet, battery and tray; detach release cable and handle. Reinstall in reverse.
