How to remove and install a water pump on 2010 Mazda 3?

In order to take out the water pump, loosen the negative battery terminal, empty out the cooling system, and take off the upper engine cover. Lift the vehicle, take off splash shields and loosen the water pump pulley bolts. Take out the expansion tank and the water pump. Clean surfaces, compare new pump, apply sealant and install. Fill the cooling system and inspect leakages.
