Take out the negative battery cable. In the case of 2005 and below models, you would remove the shift knob, ashtray, and screws and then unplug the electronic connectors to raise the console. To connect electrical connectors, removing the shift lever knob, trim covers and console screws as well as deconnecting electrical connectors will be necessary in the year 2006 and subsequent models.
