What precautions should be taken when handling Headlight Bulb and replacing headlights on Mazda 3?

Do not touch the surface of the bulb with your fingers, the oil on the skin may make it overheat and break down earlier than it should have; in case you do touch it, wipe it with rubbing alcohol. In order to reach the left headlight housing, remove the battery air inlet and air filter housing duct air inlet. In the case of the high-beam bulb of the right headlight housing, remove the power steering fluid reservoir. Loose the electrical connector of the low-beam bulb and the rubber cover at the back of the housing and unhook the locking spring after which the bulb can be removed. Installation of a new bulb is to be done by matching the top lug with the cutout and attaching the bulb by inserting and hooking the spring over the tab being careful not to touch the bulb with the fingers. In the case of high-beam bulbs, you must remove the electrical connector, then counterclockwisely twist the bulb off and then when replacing it, you should not touch the bulb using your fingers. Make sure that the new bulb goes in and snaps and is fixed by turning it clockwise. Other models fit High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulbs, which are marked with a high voltage warning sticker; because of the danger of fatal shock in the event of high voltage residue in the circuit when the headlight switch is off, they are recommended to have those bulbs replaced in a proper repair shop.
