Unscrew the lug nuts, lift the car and place it on jack stands. Take off splash covers and wheel. Unscrew tie-rod end and jam nut, cut off the inner boot clamp using diagonal cutters and slide off the boot. Prior to fitting the new boot, a sheath of tape is placed over the threads and serrations on the terminus of the steering rod so as not to harm the smaller end of the new boot. Install new clamps and insert the new boot on the rack and pinion until it fits into the groove on the steering rod. Take off the tape and fitting on the tie-rod end. Lastly, attach the wheel and lug nut, lower the car and tighten the lug nut to the required torque.
