The
Fuel Pump assembly is fitted with the fuel level sending unit which is located in the
Fuel Tank. In order to test the resistance of the sending unit, remove the fuel pump assembly first. Measure the resistance with the float arm totally down (tank empty) and with the arm up (tank full); the resistance should be approximately 110 ohms when the float arm is down and 2 to 4 ohms when it is up and vary between these two values steadily. In case there is a misreading then the unit sending should be changed. To replace, firstly, take out the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank and then take off the electrical connection up to the fuel level sending unit, then loosen up the nuts holding the sending unit bracket to the fuel pump assembly. Removal is the converse of installation.
