Mazda 323 Radiator

As a frontline cooling device for the engine, the Mazda 323 Radiator helps dissipate the heat of the engine within a short time in order to maintain temperatures in the safe range. As coolant exits the block and moves into thin tubes, tightly packed fins in the unit absorb heat and transfer it to air being pushed through the front grille. The late-model Mazda cars utilize an aluminum core bonded to plastic side tanks, a lightweight design that dissipates heat fast, and, at the cost of mass reduction, older 323 models could have metal tanks with heavier cores, though, which provide greater durability at the expense of mass. The Radiator is positioned in front of the engine regardless of the material applied to ensure that the absorbed heat is swept away by natural airflow at speed and an electric fan during idle time. The hot coolant is received in an inlet tank which directs the coolant through the core, and the outlet tank takes the cooled mixture to the pump where the cycle repeats. The faster the heat is conducted by the fins, the more the system shields your Mazda against power-sucking overheating. The highly widespread failure is small leaks that can be sealed with the help of soldering or welding, but still, replacement is the highly certain solution in case of deposits or corrosion. The Radiator is applied to maintain reliable engine temperature to provide every Mazda 323 with reliable everyday performance.

Mazda 323 Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the coolant temperature sensors and radiator thermoswitch on Mazda 323?
    A:
Models 1990 to 1994 have one of two cooling fan thermoswitches used to control the cooling fan operation, with the second thermoswitch on 1.8L engine models having an automatic transaxle that modulates the high speed operation of the two-speed cooling fan. In 1995 and later models the PCM controls the cooling fan relay, fed with data by the engine coolant temperature sensor. First empty the cooling system. Replacement of the main radiator cooling fan thermoswitch To change the main radiator cooling fan thermoswitch, unscrew the switch and remove the electrical connector then attach the new switch with a new O-ring and screw it firmly before replacing the electrical connection and filling the cooling system. To install the secondary radiator cooling fan thermoswitch on two-speed fan models remove the radiator resonance chamber, disconnect the electrical connector and remove radiator fan thermoswitch and gasket. Install new radiator fan thermoswitch with a new gasket, screw it into position and reconnect the electrical connector. Lastly, fit the radiator resonance chamber again, tighten the screws and replace the cooling system.
