To change and fit the water pump of different kinds of vehicle models, first of all, it is necessary to drain the engine coolant by pouring it into an appropriate container. In the case of the rear-wheel drive GLC, loosen the cooling fan, drive belts, and water pump pulley and unbolt and remove the water pump and the gasket. Cleaning all the gasket surfaces, inserting the new gasket, and reconnecting the water pump with tightening of the nuts and washers, connect the pulley and drive belts again. In the case of front-wheel drive GLC, lift the car up, take off the under cover, drive belt, hose assemblies, and unbolt the water pump. Installation is similar to the rear-wheel drive model. To unbolt the water pump, remove the cooling fan, radiator cowling and other drive belts used by the 1979-82 626. Wipe the surface, change a new gasket, and re-assemble. In the 1983-87 626 crankshaft needs to be turned to TDC, covert and pulleyies removed, followed by the removal of the water pump. The procedure of installation is the same as cleaning and gasket. The 1986-87 323 have the same steps such as taking away the timing belt and attaching hoses. In the case of the 1988-89 626/MX-6, disconnect the battery, uncover covers and the water pump, and make sure that to install it with new O-rings and gaskets. In the model, 929, the automatic timing
Belt Tensioner needs to be reset after removal and then the water pump and timing belt must be re-installed with great care and to ensure that all the marks are properly aligned. Lastly, when the installation is complete, refill the cooling system and check the system after installing.
