Mazda B2000 Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the Ignition Lock Cylinder on Mazda B2000?
    A:
To remove and install the steering lock, first disconnect the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the steering wheel and the steering column shroud. Disconnect the multiple connectors at the base of the combination switch, then remove the switch retaining snap ring and pull the turn signal indicator cancelling cam off the shaft. After that, remove the switch retaining bolt and take out the complete switch from the column, making a groove on the head of the bolts attaching the steering lock body to the column shaft using a saw, and using a screwdriver to loosen the screws. Proceed to remove the steering lock attaching bolts and take out the steering lock. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to position a new steering lock on the column shaft and tighten the bolts until the heads break off.
