- Q:How to remove and install the rear Brake Rotor on Mazda GLC?A:In order to remove and install the Brake Rotor, one should first place the car on stands and remove the rear wheels. Measure the lateral run-out of the rotor with a dial indicator to ensure that it conforms to the limits. The next step is to loosen the bolts of the caliper bracket and loosen the caliper and the bracket in one, attaching it to the rear spring or strut. Put the parking brake all the way out, then remove the rotor attaching screws, and insert into the tapped holes at about 90 to the normal position and tighten evenly to loosen the rotor off the axle shaft flange. Clean the screws after which the new rotor is installed by matching the identification marks in the flange of the axle shaft and the rotor before putting in the mounting screws. When a new rotor is being used, check it in all four possible positions, and observe the lateral run-out with a dial indicator and then fit the rotor in the position which minimizes run-out and mark the rotor and the axle flange accordingly.
