How to replace a speedometer cable on Mazda MPV?

Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then use a wrench to unscrew the speedometer collar. Withdraw the cable from the driven gear and pull it out of the housing. Lubricate the length of the new cable with white lithium grease and insert it into the housing until it seats in the speedometer. Finally, insert the cable into the drive housing and tighten the collar securely.
