  Although the same procedure is applicable in all models, it is very hard to get the PCV valve of later models as it is located on the left side of the engine block, underneath the intake manifold, and that will necessitate the removal of the intake manifold to inspect or to install the PCV valve. The hose and PCV valve are situated in the valve cover. Start by withdrawing the PCV valve out of the cover. When the engine is idling and is at normal operating temperature, put your finger over the end of the valve; when there is no vacuum, make sure that there is no plugged hose or valve and change those that are plugged or have rotted out. Then switch off the engine and take the PCV valve out of the hose followed by blowing low pressure air in the valve through the valve end of the valve cover; failure to do so, change the valve. Be careful when buying a replacement, be sure it fits your particular car and the type of engine, and be sure to check the old valve to the new valve and make certain they are identical.
