Lift the front part of the vehicle and securely place it on jackstands and take off the clip and loosen the brake hose of the strut. The second step is to remove the strut-to-knuckle nuts and one of the nut and bolt assemblies. Removing the upper strut cover in the engine compartment, remove the three-way damper control switch (if provided). Then loosen the four strut damper-to-chassis stud nuts, then the two additional strut-to-knuckle nut and bolt, which enables the strut damper assembly to be removed off the vehicle. Check regarding leaks of oil, damage of the dust boot, rust or damage of the spring; additional dismantling of the strut should use a spring compressor and special methods, which cannot be left to a dealer or an adequately equipped shop. Installation is the opposite of de-installation so that all the fasteners are tightened to the recommended torque.
