Check the rotor carefully and change it in case it is heavily worn or damaged. Examine internal gear to check broken, scored, worn and chipped teeth. In order to calculate the clearance of the side housing and the rotor, take the width of the rotor and compare it with already taken measurements of the rotor housing that should be 8.8. Checking between each apex on the internal gear on the rotor width with the rotor three times with the micrometers. The clearance is represented by the difference between the rotor and side housing width and should be 0.0047 to 0.0071 inches (0.12 to 0.18 mm) and must not exceed less than 0.004 inches (0.10 mm). In case of clearance more than the specification, change the rotor assembly and in case the clearance is lower then this may indicate that the internal gear has moved a bit and may be easily knocked back into place using a plastic hammer. Check rotor width again again to see that it is of a certain width. Moreover, inspect the rotor bearing of wear, flaking or scoring or other damage and change it in case of any complications. Measure the inside diameter of the rotor bearing using inside micrometers and compare the result with the outside diameter of the eccentric shaft journal. The typical rotor bearing clearance is of 0.0016 to 0.0031 inch(0.04 to 0.08 mm) with the limit of 0.0039 inch(.10 mm). When the clearance of the bearings is more than this limit change the rotor bearings.
