When the hood is brought back to the same specific point as it was during its installation, then nothing more needs to be adjusted as the striker and lock will fit in place. Install the stay rod again, and in case some adjustments are required in the position of the hood, it is recommended to loosen the bolts holding the hood catch on the firewall so that the hood catch can real-align to the new location of the hood striker, otherwise it can get stuck as one opens the hood.
