The parking brake will usually not need any regular maintenance, but after a long period of time the cable can stretch and this makes its use cumbersome. It is best to start with the rear end of the car and make it lift up so that the rear wheels are not bound down, but place stands under it. Then remove the padded overcover on the brake lever and reach the adjuster on the right side of the lever. Slide the screw to the point where the rear brakes are engaged and will not rotate when the lever that opens the parking brake is raised 3 to 7 notches. Then open the lever of the parking brake and ensure that the rear wheels spin without any restrictions. After confirmation, lower the vehicle. Lastly, set the parking brake warning light switch such that when the parking brake lever is pulled out 1 notch the light on and off when the parking brake lever is released.
