In case of 2007 and earlier models, the
Headlight and
Ignition Switches should be off when opening the hood. To remove the electrical connector, squeeze the locking tabs and remove the electrical connector to the headlight assembly. You will then need to take the rubber boot off the headlight assembly and then loosen the retainer spring of the bulb by pushing each end towards the front of the headlight and unhooked. Slowly take the bulb out of the assembly and thoroughly without touching the glass piece of the new bulb, put it into the assembly making sure the three metal tabs fit in the grooves of the plastic base and the metal base is fully in place. Installation of the spring retainer includes swinging it back into position, hooking the ends, fitting the protective rubber boot and fitting the electrical connector after which the headlight performance is tested. In 2008 and subsequent models, the first steps are similar, which is to make sure that the switches are off and open the hood. Unscrew the wiring in the headlight bulb, take off dust cover (if there is one), and counterclockwise twist to get the bulb out. Installation is also in reverse order of the removal and the final step is testing the operation of the headlights.
