Such a process is applicable on 2004 models and earlier models, as models of later models have a Smart Junction box that performs the same task, but has further functionality and, therefore, should not be disassembled because there should be no parts that are serviceable. In case of repair associated with the Smart Junction Box, one can visit a dealership or an independent repair shop. Turn signal and hazard flashers are controlled by one electronic flasher unit underneath the instrument panel on the left of the steering column. When operating a flasher unit should produce a clicking sound; when the turn signal indicator on one side of the car is blinking faster than normal, that indicates a defective turn signal bulb. When the two turn signals fail to blink, possible causes may be a fuse that has been blown, a malfunctioning flasher unit, broken switch, or a loose connection. A brief examination of the fuse box should also be done to confirm a blown turn signal fuse and wiring should be inspected to confirm short before changing the fuse. Replacement To replace the flasser, the flasser has to be loosened by being removed out of the mounting bracket and the electrical connection has to be undone and it is advisable to pull the flasser unit off first. Notice Before installation, make sure that the replacement unit is identical to the original, and then install it in reverse sequence.
