The Mazda Tribute EGR Valve secures the engine by returning a controlled amount of exhaust gases to the intake to cool combustion and to reduce damaging nitrogen oxides. The valve is mounted between the exhaust manifold and intake plenum and opens when temperatures are spiking during steady cruising and closes at idle or full throttle to maintain sharp drivability.
