To correct fore-aft play, the hatch alignment is usually done by loosening the hinge bolts at the hatch and the body. To correct vertical shifts, use the same process but also loosen the hinge, lock and striker bolts and reposition the lock/striker. Then retighten and cycle the hatch. On RX-7 rear-glass models remove interior trim to access hinge nuts, adjust alignment and resecure.
