    Discharge A/C and disconnect negative battery. Front: drain coolant, remove passenger trim/glovebox, disconnect & plug refrigerant lines at firewall, remove grommets, thermo-switch connector and nuts, split case halves and remove evaporator. Rear: remove rear trim, disconnect lines, electricals and hoses, unbolt and remove evaporator. Reinstall reverse; refill, evacuate, recharge, leak-test.

    Should the A/C Compressor be replaced whenever the receiver drier is replaced on 1996 Mazda MPV?
    A:
    A/C Compressor should be used in place of receiver drier. Release the system and take off the battery cable. Take off the air duct, loosen the A/C Compressor drive belt and disconnect the electrical connector and refrigerant lines. Dismantle the A/C Compressor, install per directions, change O-rings and test and evacuate the system.

    In order to take out A/C Condenser, make sure that it is discharged, disconnected battery cable and get rid of condenser fan(s) and electric cooling fan(s). Unscrew refrigerant lines, take off A/C Condenser, and pour fresh refrigerant oil in new A/C Condenser and place parts back in that order. Evacuate, recharge and leak test a qualified shop.
