Install the main bearing caps and crankshaft then fix the fresh seal and retainer assembly. Take off the old seal, and its depth of recess. Wipe off the retainer, grease the new seal and stamp it down with RTV sealant (four cylinder engine) or stick to a new gasket (V6). Grease seal lips and screw bolts.
